Welcome to wrocław

A city of a Hundred Bridges

Wrocław, often called the “City of a Hundred Bridges,” attracts visitors with its rich cultural heritage, including the historic Market Square, Centennial Hall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the WUWA Exhibition Estate. This unique architectural complex, created in 1929, showcases the innovative ideas of the Bauhaus movement. Another must-see place is Ostrów Tumski, the oldest part of Wrocław, with the beautiful Gothic St. John the Baptist Cathedral.

The Local Organizing Committee will facilitate opportunities for conference participants to explore Wrocław and visit its most renowned landmarks and historical sites. We plan to organize both complimentary and paid guided tours led by local experts.

We also aim to encourage visitors to discover less obvious aspects of the city that are typically overlooked in traditional guidebooks. One example is Wrocław’s famous dwarfs, hundreds of small figurines scattered throughout the city. They are of historical significance going back to the anti-communist movement of the 1980s.

We will invite participants to explore contemporary urban developments that exemplify innovative and sustainable approaches to urban planning, architecture, and public space design. Selected examples are presented below.
